A quieter month for the blog as I concluded my time with my current employer and prepared for the next.
Enough bandwidth available, however, to further reflect on elections, this time concerning the events of November 5 in the United States:
"Talk is cheap. And in a capitalist context with robust corporate media networks and limited access to education and opportunity, it is a popular commodity."
The employment transition also brought up the peculiar schedule of white-collar labor. And the degrees to which it frames our interactions:
"Our ‘leisure time’ is not truly a gift or luxury, but rather an indicator of what remains stolen. A greater amount each passing day."
Finally, the descent of the cold and the snow, winter's unwelcome arrival, encouraging a dive into the past. First, to Smaug's lair, for a surprising encounter with a memorable dragon. And second, to a bar in New York, for Aki Sasamoto's musings on our proclivity for power.
